Al Squartino is a family man living in Schwenksville, and his passion is developing young men and women in the sports of baseball and softball.

Al attended Lake Howell High School in Casselberry, FL, 1979. He was a Varsity Baseball starter all 3 years, 3-time MVP, 2-time All Conference, 2-time All Metro, and 2-time All County. And in his senior year, he was named All State Player and 5-Star Conference Player of the Year. Additionally, Al was chosen from the entire state to play in the High School North / South Baseball Game in front of college scouts.

After high school, Al was invited to private tryouts for the Expos, Pirates, and Twins. He had a short professional career playing 2 years in the Reds and Dodgers organizations, which ended due to major knee surgery. After that, he played for 2 years on Independent and Semi-Pro Baseball Teams. Al was named MVP in the Roy Hobbs Semi-Pro League.

Next I played for 10 years in a national Men’s Major Open Softball League at the highest level of competitive play. I played 9 years on Bell Corp where we won 4 world championships. I personally won 2 All World and 8 All Tournament Team titles. I was voted in the Top 10 best softball players in Central Florida 3 years in a row. During the time I played Major Open Softball I was a representative for Easton, Louisville, Muzuno, and Wilson Manufactures through equipment contracts.

After Major Open Men’s Softball, Al started his family and gave up playing for Coaching. During his playing days, he won a total of 19 batting, 7 home run, 48 golden gloves, and 10 MVP titles.

Al coached Girls Fastpitch softball for 7 years - taking one team from ages 12U to 18U. During that time, they won 6 World Series Titles, 4 State Titles, with an overall win/loss record of 625 - 140. Their team was ranked in top 10 in the country 3 years in a row and featured in an article in Softball Magazine. 33 Girls from the Ladyhawks Team were signed to colleges, with 11 signing Division 1 Scholarships. During that same time Al served as a community leader as President of the Ladyhawks Girls Fastpitch Softball Organization that included ages 12U to 18U competitive teams where coaches and players moved up in age through the same organization. Al also served as Vice President of West Orange Girls Club Fastpitch Softball League that hosted between 30 and 50 teams each season of league play.

After his oldest daughter was signed to a Division 1 College Softball Scholarship, Al moved to coaching boy’s baseball. He founded the Hawks Boys Baseball Organization that consisted of two teams, ages 12U and 13U. He coached the 13U team for 3 years prior to moving to Pennsylvania. Once his family relocated to Schwenksville, he coached the PV Middle School West 7th Grade Baseball Team and volunteered as the Assistant Coach of the PV High School Varsity Baseball Team. Al currently coaches Starpath Boys Baseball 16U team made up of boys from the Collegeville area. They are a travel team and play almost exclusively in college showcase tournaments. During the time he’s been coaching and instructing boy’s baseball - 9 boys have been signed to college scholarships; 3 to Division 1 schools, and 2 to the Minor Leagues.
